In Twin Falls, Idaho, three Muslim refugee boys who brutally videotaped their sexual assault (including anal and oral rape) of a mentally-disabled five-year-old girl walked free Tuesday after pleading guilty to all charges. Shockingly and unconstitutionally, Judge Thomas Borresen issued a gag order, thereby preventing the girl’s family from speaking about the case after its closure.
In Jihad Watch, Pamela Geller reported that “The injustice began in the proceedings at the Snake River Juvenile Detention Center in Twin Falls when Judge Thomas Borreson of Idaho’s 5th Judicial District ordered the little victim’s parents to say nothing to anyone – ever – about what was said in the courtroom Tuesday, or to disclose the sentence that he gave to the savage attackers. He did allow them to say that they were unhappy with the sentencing, but threatened to jail them for contempt of court if they disclosed why they were unhappy with it.”
The Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Janice Kroeger, viciously rebuked the victim’s mother, even though the purpose of her job is to prosecute the perpetrators. Kroeger set up the case to depict the perpetrators as victims who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and argued that they were in urgent need of therapeutic assistance. Meanwhile resources devoted to healing the trauma and abuse of the 5-year-old girl were absent.
According to Arutz Sheva, “Geller says that the victim’s lawyer is facing contempt charges because of a benign comment he made to the Idaho Statesman about the parents’ unhappiness with the verdict.” World Net Daily reported that “Mathew Staver, chairman and co-founder of the nonprofit legal assistance agency Liberty Counsel, told WND that Judge Borresen was completely out of line in issuing a gag order after the fact in a criminal case.”
‘It’s unconstitutional for the judge to do that. There are gag orders that can be put on people during a jury trial, or if it’s a minor they can prohibit you from mentioning the name of the minor, but they can’t gag you after the fact,” Staver said. “This is public at this point. This judge, it just seems like he’s forgotten about the First Amendment in this case. He has no authority to do this, he can’t hold someone in contempt to keep them from speaking out about their displeasure with the case after the fact.’
The mainstream media has a virtual blackout on this case because it would depict Muslim migrants in a less than positive light. The constitutional rights of the family of the girl and the resources necessary for the girl’s recovery are being denied for the sake of political correctness. Other cases of Islamic-related crime and terror that have been suppressed include the busted FGM (female genital mutilation ring) in Dearborn, Michigan, and the recent London jihadi’s connection to radical Michigan state cleric, Ahmad Musa Jibril.
In sum, our own laws and traditions are being subverted in order to cater to the needs of migrants who come from violent and backward cultures, and our own government is complicit in this scheme. Gag orders, letting child rapists free, and the institutional abuse of actual victims and depiction of violent perpetrators as victims is un-American, immoral, and destructive for the nation.
